One Sat. morning, 12 years ago, my husband & youngest son, had gone fishing... When they got home, they had 'no' fish, but had found a puppy (about 3 months old) alongside the road, covered with pine sap. Obviously she had been dumped;( ... (I will never understand how someone could do such a thing) ... That puppy turned into a very loyal loving pet...

Ginger started out as an outside dog, most always found out by the gate, waiting to greet folks, I guess, as I do not think Ginger was even capable of biting anyone:) ... At about 7 yrs, during a pretty cold winter she found out that being inside, was much preferred:)) From that point forward she was a house pet (never even had to house train her, it just seemed to come naturally)

When Ginger was about 10, I noticed she had a lump, which turned out to be cancer... we initially had it removed & kept it under control with medication, for over a year, but of course the cancer won, eventually...

I still see her relaxed on the couch, taking a nap... Our pets become so much a part of our lives that when they do die, we continue to sense their presence, with us.

They are such a blessing in our lives...
